THE FINISH LINE IS DEATH

Energy has been low lately and life has been demanding, but I still want to share things that I find meaningful.

Here is this week’s message of contemplation — courtesy of Jay (@flossybaby):

“I just want to remind you that the finish line is death.

So when you think you’re behind, you’re not doing enough, you need to catch up, you need to hurry up and accomplish this and do that and do this:

The finish line is Death.

None of us are making it out alive.

Everybody will die.

When you find yourself feeling like you need to rush to accomplish X, Y, and Z to prove this and that to people — or to prove something to yourself — just know that you are rushing towards death.

You don’t get an award for how quickly you moved through life.

You feel behind because you’re comparing yourself to other people.

You need to learn how to mind your own business.

And realistically — there’s only so much you’re going to do in your lifetime before you die.

So every time you try to rush through things —

Rush through phases… Rush through things that are supposed to take time…

You’re just rushing towards your death.

It’s okay to want to live a meaningful life, but in the end — you’re going to die.

Take a deep breath.

Move at your own pace…

Drink a smoothie…

And calm the fuck down…

Because it’s really not that serious.

Today — I am not doing anything else.

I am not folding my laundry. I am not doing any dishes. I am not preparing for the week ahead.

I am just going to be.

…Lean into the foreign feeling of not achieving — of being “unproductive” — of rest.

That is enough.

Take care of yourselves.
